Valencia is Spain's third largest city and like all major cities it is where museums, art galleries, theatres etc are to be found. It has a bustling port and ferries and cruises leave from there. Road, rail and air connections are excellent and are constantly being improved. The 2007 Americas Cup Yacht Race in Valencia has brought a lot of added activity to an already buzzing city. Valencia is famous for its "fallas" - an amazing fiesta which culminates in the burning of large papier mache figures and splendid firework display on 19 March. March 19 is Father's Day in Spain. People come from far and wide for this week long fiesta.
